It is with heavy heart, that I will not be hosting Rosebud Agate Festival this year. I’ve been torn for a number of reasons, and after last week, I just don’t think I’ll have it in me.
No Rosebud Agate Festival in 2024
Last year was the first year of Rosebud Agate fest, and while it was a small group, we had a lot of fun. I’d smoked 40 pounds of pork the week before, and just getting everything together was a bit harrowing. Hundreds of pounds of Rosebud Agate were collected by participants, and new friendships were made.
I had already decided I didn’t want to cook again this year. I was going to outsource it to one of Union Counties fine food trucks, chuck wagons, or ranch caterers. However this year there is a food truck festival in Clayton on Saturday of Labor day weekend.
I have medical appointments the weeks before and after, that I’ll have to travel for. And finally since I’m making the transition to a new living situation, there’s a lot I need to do. I will be pushing my energy levels to the limit for awhile.
2025 Rosebud Agate Events?
I honestly don’t know at this point, if there will be another Rosebud Agate Festival. I sincerely hopes it works out that I can host events in the future, but until I get my living situation stabilized, I’m going to refrain from predicting the future.
Can I Book A Regular Rockhound Tour?
I am still accepting appointments for guided rockhounding tours on the ranch. All currently booked appointments will happen, and you can schedule yours here.
I will be here on the ranch for 2-3 more months at most. I’m hoping sooner, but to get the bus project to a minimal point of running and livable is going to take a quick minute. After that I will determine what further availability I will have for tours.
Looking for Sponsors for Bus Build
I am actively seeking sponsors for the bus project. I will be able to reclaim and quite a few materials here on the ranch. However there are some things I really want or need for the bus, that I don’t have funds for currently.
I use some affiliate ads in my websites. However I’d rather offer sponsorship to small or local businesses instead.
I will be blogging and vlogging on my YouTube channels about the bus build and my experience with bus life. Additionally I publish on other websites and platforms regularly.
