2 AM Thoughts. It’s approximately thirteen hours after I received the call from the attorneys office about my disability denial. No nap, Been up since 3:30 AM yesterday. Dishes are done. Laundry is almost caught up. Bus is swept out and ready for tomorrows project. Shop and website update done.
2 AM Disability Thoughts
It’s going on 39 months since I filed for disability. The first two denials, I’m told are pretty standard. After this last appeal, the attorney told me the hearing, it couldn’t have gone better, and yet here I am looking at another appeal. Another 2-3 years possibly.
I have to find another attorney, because this one doesn’t practice beyond this level of appeal. So that’s in the cards for tomorrow. I have no options left but to appeal, and try to hustle enough to live. All while in crazy pain. Cause ‘Merica!!
Just a note about pain. I use ridiculously hot, hot sauces to feel something different than the usual pain. Just the other day I slathered a quesadilla with Trinidad Scorpion pepper sauce. And tried it on a burger after that to be sure. But it doesn’t even register on my pain scale any more. Guess it’s time to move to Pepper X sauces.
Website and Shop Update
Since I can’t sleep due to the depression, anxiety, and anger, I’m channeling it into work. My body will pay, but my mind has hijacked the operation. The crash will suck pretty bad.
To cut costs from the ever increasing fees (more than double over the last year) from my eCommerce provider, I have reduced my plan to the free option for the time being. This also reduces a lot of features I have to help sales.
Product Listings
Switching my plan also limits me to five product listings. So I have reduced the product catalog in the shop to Rosebud Agate and the W Diamond L Ranch sample pack. Back to basics. Everything else will see social media sales or in person gem and mineral shows.
Shipping Prices
I have reworked shipping prices now that I have a plenty of experience packing rosebud agate for you legends. I have added custom calculations to offer multiple USPS flat rate options based on the weight of your order. Ground is still available and is calculated by USPS based on weight and your location.
I considered scrapping free shipping, but it is a useful sales tool. However I’m increasing the threshold to get free shipping to $150 or higher on your order subtotal.
Shipping Times
I updated shipping method descriptions to reflect the reality of longer shipping times. These longer shipping times are a direct result of the policies of Emperor Felonius and former Postmaster General Louis DeJoy that have significantly degraded rural mail service.
Last Call
Rosebud Agate will be $5 per pound until I roll to the new property sometime in the next week. I will have totes going with me, however the price is going to go up a bit more and probably stay there until I settle in at the new place. Just a heads up.
